Tying Video – The Professor

I just put the finishing touches on a new fly tying video on the YouTube channel. This one is The Professor. Originally tied a long long time ago for trout, it has proven an exceptional fly in the Midwest for panfish. The Professor is a classic wet fly and incorporates all the basic techniques of "wet" fly tying. However, this version changes a few things to make it a little less time consuming to tie and more durable.

Slowly, I am getting this video recording stuff down. This particular video incorporates two different angles and multiple takes as well as edits. I am starting to get a sense of the massive scale (and headaches) Peter Jackson must have faced! The real learning curve is trying to put all this together in a quality video and somehow keep my thoughts on track while tying a quality fly. Well, enough of that, just a word to say I am getting it sorted out with each video and it is interesting to see the changes.

So, check out The Professor, it is a long one (30 minutes) but there is a lot of information in the video and hopefully a few things that will help your fly tying. As always, feel free to leave me any comments or questions about this video either on Dressed Irons or on YouTube and I will be glad to hear from you.

Lastly, if you would like to purchase some Professor, I have some available in the Shop. Get them while supplies last!
