Dressed Irons Guild Announcement

I am pleased to announce that I have started a community on Locals; the Dressed Irons Guild.  There is an announcement video on YouTube (above) that will explain much of the reasoning behind starting this community on Locals as well as a welcome message on the Dressed Irons Guild.  To take a look at the Guild on Locals head over to – diflytying.locals.com (or click on the image above). If you do not already have an account with Locals you will have to create one to become a member of the Dressed Irons Guild community.  That said, I will leave it to the video(s) to explain what and why the community has been created.  The short of it is to have a place where people who like fly tying (and fly fishing) can view Dressed Irons content, receive some extra content and be able to share some of their own content.  I created the video that is on YouTube about a week ago and have since then learned a few things.  These are also in the description of the YouTube video in case you have read them there.

1) when you create an account on Locals and “join” a community you are considered a “member” of that community. This is basically the free level of content in that community. In order to access the full community you must “Become a Supporter”.

2) When you become a supporter you can pay monthly or annually. However, the system is limited to monthly support until the community reaches 50 supporters. Since I currently do not have 50 supporters you can only support through monthly contributions. I will be reaching out to all who sign up and support the Guild in regards to who would rather support annually (which would be cheaper) so that some sort of correction/compensation can be made when the annual option is available.

3) I have decided to post on the Guild whenever I upload a video to YouTube. This means that if you are a member or a supporter of the Guild you can see all of the content there. I figure it might be easier in regards to having less places to go to view content. The plan is to give supporters early access to the videos and then the members can see the videos when they go live on YouTube.

I am still figuring out the Locals platform and ask that members and supports be patient with me.  If you find something is not working as it should, have a question or simply have some feedback/suggestions for me you can reach me through the Contact form on Dressed Irons or leave a comment on this post or the YouTube video. – Enjoy.

If you haven’t yet, sign up for the Dressed Irons newsletter to stay up to date well as receiving more details about what’s happening.  The sign up form is on the right of this page!

As always, if you have any questions about this fly (or any other) you can leave a comment on Dressed Irons or any of the videos I have produced and I will help in anyway I can.

Remember….. It’s Fly Tying….. If you’re not having fun, You’re Doin’ It Wrong.
